Confirmed speakers include Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Director General of IRCICA (Organization of the Islamic Conference, Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture); Nilgun Mirze, Director of Corporate Communications, Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts; Ali Çoskun, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Turkish Republic; Rifat Hisarciklioglu, President of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Maritime Commerce of Turkey; Mehmet Aydin, Minister of State of the Turkish Republic; Mustafa Isen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Turkish Republic; Murat Nemet-Nejat, distinguished poet and translator; Erkan Mumcu, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Turkish Republic; Richard Bulliet, Professor of Middle Eastern Studies, Columbia University; J. Hilmi Guler, Minister of Energy of the Turkish Republic

Papers and presentations on all aspects of Turkish, American, or Middle Eastern political, business, scientific, technological, and cultural affairs are welcome. Scholars who wish to participate should submit proposals as soon as possible, but not later than April 20th. Proposals should be submitted to Edward Foster, director of the Stevens Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, via email or to the address below. If you are submitting your proposal via email, include the proposal in the body of the email, not as an attachment. *Stevens is located directly across the river from New York City and is easily reached by public transportation (one subway stop from Manhattan).
